MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023: applications welcome!

Also this year, the European Union will support young scientists (PhD holders with less than 8 years of research experience) in their journey towards excellence and career development through fully-funded postdoctoral fellowships within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. There are two types of fellowships:

There are 2 types of Postdoctoral Fellowships:

  1. European Postdoctoral Fellowships. They are open to researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from another part of the world to pursue their research career. These fellowships take place in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country and can last between 1 and 2 years. Researchers of any nationality can apply.
  2. Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. They fund the mobility of researchers outside Europe. The fellowship lasts between 2 to 3 years, of which the first 1 to 2 years will be spent in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a mandatory return phase of 1 year to an organisation based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries can apply.

At the Faculty of Science of Charles University, we welcome candidates who wish to pursue their research interests with us. In particular, the Geohazard Group welcomes potential applicants with a focus that matches the current interests of the group (such as advanced modelling of geomaterials, thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling, chemo-mechanical coupling, landslide initiation and propagation, landslide patterns and trends).

Please keep in mind that the research project must be developed by the applicant but it requires close cooperation with the prospective supervisor and has to be in line with the interests and capabilities of the hosting department.

If you have a research idea that you wish to develop and you think we are the ideal place to realise this, please get in touch as soon as possible!

The project submission deadline is on 13 September 2023, but in order to obtain faculty support, we require a semi-final draft by the end of July. Moreover, our project management department needs to be informed as soon as we begin working on the proposal.
